What we publish

Sunday Service is particularly attentive to queer experience in the American South. We also consider work outside this scope where it aligns with the journal’s focus on restrained, unresolved literary drama.

What to submit

Short fiction (including flash)
Novellas up to 35,000 words
Poetry
Visual work: photography, drawings, paintings

Response

We aim to respond to every submission. Feedback may or may not be provided.

Withdrawal

If you need to withdraw a submission, email us with “WITHDRAWAL” in the subject line and include the title of the work. If a piece has been accepted, withdrawal may be limited by agreement.

Payment

We intend to pay contributors when possible. Payment may not be available at launch; any compensation will be stated clearly at the time of acceptance.

Rights

If accepted, Sunday Service requests first publication rights and the right to archive the work on our site. All other rights remain with the author.

Agreement

If you submit, you agree that the work is your own (or you have permission to submit it) and that you accept these guidelines and editorial discretion.
